With his bequest establishing, PSNA College of Engineering & Technology ensured that helping others would be the legacy of the Founder by imparting top-notch technical education to the rural people from this part of the country. Poverty and education are inextricably linked. Having known that education can be the catalyst needed to pull families and communities out of the cycle of poverty, Kalvithanthai Thiru R S Kothandaraman, founded Pacheri Sri Nallathangal Amman (PSNA) College of Engineering & Technology in 1984 under the aegis of Sri Rangalatchumi Educational Trust in this economically and educationally backward district to provide unparalleled opportunity to the downtrodden and needy.
Born in an agricultural family in the then Sivagangai Taluk of Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu, he nourished an insatiable desire for higher studies which remained a distant dream. This had left an indelible and lasting impression in his mind. In order to quench his thirst, he vowed to educate the disadvantaged in a simple and unobtrusive way. These noble thoughts coupled with lofty ideals and great expectations, led to the birth of PSNA with a plethora of innovative concepts to create a host of talented professionals. He also felt that technical education was the need of the hour to meet the growing demands of our steadily progressing economy.
It is to be highly appreciable that a philanthropist, dynamic and devoted person with down-to-earth principles from a remote village has taken painstaking efforts to establish a Technical Institution of repute with a vision that only technical manpower could contribute more for the overall development of the nation.
